Topics will include PHRF Rules, racing tactics and strategies as well as local conditions that will affect those tactics and strategies.
While this seminar is primarily focused on racing, non-racing attendees will benefit by learning how local conditions in this area have a large impact on your recreational sailing. A great seminar for anyone new to boating in this area!
Presenter:
Tom Gregory, an SYC member since September 2022, has been racing sailboats and cruising since he was 12 years old. And, for local water racing, Tom has crewed on Charlie Goodrich's boat Harmony for the past few PHRF race seasons.
Cool Fact: While in college, Tom was part of a team selected to represent the United States in a sailing competition against the Soviet Union on the Black Sea during the Cold War. He was told that his group, from St. Mary’s College was probably the first Americans to be in that body of water in probably 100 years!
